Hello writers,

Here is the information about the writing class with So Say We All that we have been speaking about over the last few months. We have not set a location as yet but it will be somewhere up in North County and we will let you know the time when we set the place. But for now, mark you calendars and register by using the link at the bottom.

Veteran Writers Group (VWG-SD) and So Say We All present:
"How to Tell a True War Story"
A 5-week workshop and showcase of stories chronicling the experience of war and its aftermath.

Cost: $120
Dates: (all Sundays)
March 18, 25
April 1, 15, 22
Showcase: April 29th

Participants are expected to arrive with a draft of a personal narrative that tells, or examines how to tell, a story from their real life experience with the armed services.

The draft should aim to be no more than 12 pages in length and properly formatted (12pt ariel or times roman font, double-spaced, page numbered with name and title on front page.)

Over the following weeks, the class will go through two-rounds of intense feedback and revisions on their pieces and then present them in front of an audience at a staged reading as part of a series involving Grossmont College and visiting writer Tim O'Brien (The Things They Carried, Going After Cacciato, If I Die In A Combat Zone.)

Participants have the option of paying the $120 registration fee via cheque to So Say We All, or by taking advantage of SSWA's assistance in fundraising the amount. All fees go toward covering expenses and providing additional free programming to those in need.

To register: please send an e-mail to with the subject header: "VWG class." Please include your full name, e-mail, phone and address in the body of the e-mail along with a brief, one-paragraph description of the piece you would like to work on in this class.
